Wrist, Hand and Thumb Pain
Lots of bones, joints, tendons, muscles and ligaments that can be the source of pain.
De Quervain's tenosynovitis
Pain at the base of the thumb that can get sore with lifting.
Extensor tendonitis
Pain on the back of the wrist often s a result of overuse. Won't like press-ups where the wrist is bent backwards under pressure.
Thumb arthritis
Can happen with lots of use to your thumb.
Rheumatoid arthritis
Can affect various parts of the body but commonly affects hands and fingers. Really effective exercise programme to help this.
Ligament sprains
Will happen as a result of a fall onto an outstretched hand or if a finger or thumb is bent under high force.
Wrist or hand fracture
Can happen as a result of a fall. Can happen to any of the bones around the area but scaphoid fracture is common one as it's situated at the base of the thumb.
