Postpartum Support
Looking after your baby is demanding enough. Pain and discomfort can only add to that but there are lots of things we can do to help.
Lower back pain
Spending time in awkward positions lifting, carrying, changing nappies all put new demands on your body.
Upper back pain
Feeding and lifting can make the muscles around the middle of your back feel stiff and sore.
Neck and shoulder pain
Pain around your groin and/or hips. Can be made worse with prolonged time on your feet.
"Mum thumb"
Also called De Quervain's tenosynovitis. You'll feel a pain around the base of your thumb when lifting, carrying and sometimes even just moving your thumb.
Pelvic floor issues
Reduced control of your bladder or bowels, sometimes made worse with coughing, sneezing or exertion.
Getting back to exercising
When is the right time and what's the right thing to start with. And more importantly what are you wanting to get back to? Running, exercises classes, home workouts, Pilates or yoga?
