Osteoporosis and Osteopenia

You've had a DEXA scan and perhaps your GP has given you some supplements to take. What else can you do to help?

Weight bearing or resistance exercises

Build up the strength of your muscles and bones with some exercises at home or in the gym.

Stability exercises

Focusing on the stability in around your spine can reduce the risk of osteoporotic fractures.

Balance work

If your bones are a bit more vunerable to injury, some work on your balance can leave you feeling more confident with movement.

Understanding risk factors

Some people are more at risk than others. Things like family history, long term steroid use and diet are potential factors.
