Hip Pain
Sometimes uncomfortable sitting on low chairs and often irritated with prolonged time on your feet such as standing, walking or running.
Hip arthritis
Osteoarthritis. May feel particularly stiff in the morning and you may notice a restricted range of movement compared to your other hip.
Labral tears
Similar presentation to arthritis but tends to happen in younger sporty patients. Can feel in around the groin, hip and/or buttock.
Bursitis
Also known as Greater Trochanteric Pain Syndrome (GTPS); usually presents as localised pain on the outside of hip.
Tendinopathy
The gluteal tendons on the outside of the hip can become irritated, often with running or walking. Another tendon, the proximal hamstring tendon, can give pain just below the buttock.
Pelvic girdle pain (PGP)
Typically pain around the pubic bone or groin area and can sometimes happen in the later stages of pregnancy.
Stress fracture
Sacral or femoral. Can happen with high intensity athletes.

Physiotherapy is important to help your new joint settle and get you back to your old self.
